Once again, a very informative review. :) I like the character comparisons of each story version.

I just watched the 60's ep. Astro's fighting scene with the villain is very reminiscent to some Looney Tunes/Tex Avery cartoons. It seems like Tezuka had gotten some inspirations from their side.

 I didn't know about Mandrake the 4th being the original creator of the solar sphere. Larson (who's the bad guy in the 80's version btw) must have stolen the plans to create his own sphere's version in the 80's ep.
What a degradation for Mandrake. From the top as the ruler of the world down to an ordinary leader of a smuggling gang. ;)

Larson? I tried to find that guy's name, but missed it when I watched the ep.

Thank you for the compliments.

What? "....As with many of the B&W seriesÂ’ stories, some time is spent on amusing animated humor that really has little if anything to do with the story. ...." :whistling: :w00t:

No I won't tell anyone what I see in Astro boy cartoons... :tenma:
