Wow, Great Review! I hope that I'm able to check out some manga volumes in the future.

To bad these links are so short lived. But one day all these episodes will be in the Archives anyway....
And Jeffbert you have scarcely touched on this episodes essence. For instance the obvious racial overtones of the plot. Remember I told you about the hooded gang at the opening titles representing the KKK. And at the time of this episode the worlds christian churches were trying to win civil rights for the banned negroes. Blacks as it were. Tezuka was an agent of the church at that time. Aurora is the name of Disneys sleeping beauty. Which is a type of Queen Elizabeth. Sword Excaliber etc.? So as you saw the cab driver said no robots allowed. This episode is obvious... "Black Looks?"

I do not see any logical connection between Sleeping B-- being named 'aurora' & the mountain in NZ of that name. Please explain.

A mountain in Queensland or the Crown colonies named Aurora and you can't see a logic? Is the Queen a mountain?
Is the Queen Zion?
These would be metaphors of the people Tezuka was communicating with at that time....
To wit Disney and the Church....
The mountain was named by Kings college Geographers and explorers from the British colleges all members of the church of england or coventry etc...
Tezuka is speaking as always in the language of that learned society...
All mountains in such company are Zion and Sinai...
The Queen is the mountain...
The Church is the mountain.....
God is in the mountain Etc....
Aurora is the light of the northern heaven....
The Star of Bethlehem is the light of the eastern heaven etc....
A bridge to Mount Fuji and the restoration and reconciliation of Judeochristian Japan with the nursery of the Judeochristian west....
Eventually even alowing for the building of the Aurora castle in Japan on Japanese soil....
