I enjoy watching the NASA Channel, hard to believe those astronauts on board the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station are traveling around 5 miles every second. Love the space adventures involve in the Astroboy series.

It is relative. On Earth surface, we travel at roughly the speed of sound, that is between half a mile and a mile per second. However, because the ground and atmosphere goes at the same speed, we don't notice it. Same thing goes for space stations

Thanks Fafner for replying, please also our planet moves 18 miles per second around the Sun and the Sun has an orbital period of about 250,000,000 years around the Galaxy i believe it is. Praying you the very best, your friend Toni, thanks and hugs .
