Well, the closest things to holiday specials were two episodes of the 1980's series. There was the episode "The Light Ray Robot" that was set just before Christmas, even had Astro and Light Ray walking through town, and Astro has to explain to Light Ray what a Christmas tree is. Later, Astro has a Christmas party at his house, and Daddy Walrus even comes in dressed as Santa. The ending of the episode, however...
The second one, "Uran the Tomboy" had really quick references to New Year's but has moments you can only see in the Japanese version. There's Daddy Walrus calling Ochanimizu and trying to get him to come to a party (Walrus was drunk, even), then Astro's family having a little party (Astro was even in a boy's kimono) and Daddy Walrus having another party with some of his students (unfortunately for everyone, he sang).

I know somebody asked this question not too long ago. the 1960s series spanned 4 years, and so had 4 episodes on or near Dec. 25th. One was 52, the Snow Lion; another: 100 Robot House; 148 Robio and Robiet ; last was 192 Medussa's mansion.
