Characters spooted in "Jetter Mars"!

UPDATE: YESSSSS, I know I misspelled "spotted" in the title. Don't remind me, please...

I just recently found somebody was putting up all the Jetter Mars episodes (albeit in Greek), so I went ahead and checked them out. You'd be surprised how many of Tez's characters were there with only a few alterations, instead of being fully-redesigned and renamed like with Jetter and Miritan. Nearly ALL the classic Astro Boy characters are here, but with a few changes! It's like Robotboy, except Tezuka allowed it!

So...
Image
In #1, Tick & Tuck briefly appear as Yamanoue's lab assistants (Yamanoue is the Tenma redesign), despite not saying a word the whole time. They two reappeared in #4...
Image
...Uncharacteristically evil. Tick was the leader of a group of thieves and was trying to get a robot dog that had a diamond or something in it. He even tried to blow up Jetter.

ImageImage
ALSO in #1, Tezuka himself appears during a little slideshow that shows technology through the years, involving a crowd packing onto a bus. During the same slideshow, a train goes by packed with characters such as Hamegg, Sapphire, Kimba and Black Jack, but I can't seem to get a picture.

Image
Hamegg showed up in #5 as a fake talent director who picked up Jetter to have him fight a bigger robot for paying people to watch.
That woman next to him is his scamming partner and wife. I'm not kidding.

The guy is still uploading episodes, so I'll post any new cameos when I see them. I checked a Japanese site and apparently Skunk shows up in #7 and Lamp in #12, so I'll see those when they come out. ;)

The picture of HamEgg is hilarious! Interesting how Tick and Tuck were evil in one episode.

Yes, please upload Skunk and Lamp!

Oh I didn't know they were in Greek! I speak a little but I can't really make much of it out. My mom and grandpa can speak it though. Maybe I could get a translation.

Well, I take you've never heard of Jetter Mars before...back in the late 70's, Tezuka wanted to make a full-colour version of Astro Boy, but his old studio had gone bankrupt and he couldn't use Astro, Uran, Tenma or Ochanimizu. So he ended up going to a different studio and making a new version of Astro Boy, except the boy robot could grow, the two rivalling scientists worked together and the girl robot was older. (Her name's Miritan)

But I thought that a lot of Tezuka's main characters appeared with several changes, just like how some of the RB characters seem to have been copied - Lola is Uran, Kamikaze is a bad clone of Tenma, and Gus is Shibugaki. As well, in both shows, everyone's character designs are wonky, there's weird stories and robots can hit people.

@ Mr. Skunk: Hey, that would be neat! I can kind of figure out what's going on, but some things make no sense - like the one bit where Tuck leans over to Miritan and asks her something, she gets embarassed, yells something twice and Tuck takes out a lighter.

I find it sad that its possible for a Artist not being able to use his own FREAKING characters....

also ...Despite Jetter Mars looking cute and cool,
Yamanoue WILL never replace or ever be close to Dr Tenma :shifty:

I WARN YA, I'M GONNA CRASH YER COMPUTER
Image
A crazed scientist from #6, otherwise Uno from The Third Magician.

Image
This guy is a ship captain who steals robots in #2. I just can't recall where I've seen him before. Notarin, maybe?

Image
Saboten Sam in #5!

Here's a little bit of info on the main characters until Teleopticus gets back to uploading.
Image
And here's Miritan, who fills the spot of Uran, except more powerful and about fifteen. She's Dr. Kawashimo's robot daughter. She also has her own vehicles.

Image
If you thought Yamanobe was painful, here's Kawashimo, the one who replaced Ochanimizu.

Image
Oh gawd, they're hideous! They're much more comedic than their Astro Boy counterparts, usually fighting with each other. In fact, Hyotantsugi flies by during the above fight.
Lemme point out that Yamanoue looks like the offspring of Nuku-Nuku and Pinhead from the Little Audrey short "Goofy Goofy Gander".

I mentioned this scene before. Part of me thinks Tuck is making a pass at Miritan.

Image
Tick is actually kinda scary when he's evil. His baritone "Mr. Bombastic" Greek dub voice doesn't help, either.

And finally, here's more epic Mexican Hamegg and his big fat American wife.

Thanks for sharing, I have always enjoyed those little apparitions! :) I had even made a thread for such things a while ago.

Does anybody know if Jetter Mars ever came out on DVD in Spanish?
