the 1960 series you can find it complete on youtube. 1980 series... well, I want it in japanese too! (specially the two first episodes, with no english subs)

You can buy the 1980 series in Japanese from Manga Entertainment in the US. However, the first full two episodes were only released in the Australian release from Madman Entertainment (you have to buy the whole boxset), or you can watch them through the Internet since they are available.

Aside from those two episodes, Manga's boxset is really really good... and cheap.

I totally want that set! The two episodes I believe can be seen on ftp://atomu.ath.cx:6872/video_eps/ Look in the 80s section. Providing the website works

I've tried that link but it never works. I already have the US box-set I really wish the original first two episodes were included. I am seriously considering buying the Madman set since the first two episodes are NOT easily available online. I hate to double dip but at this point I don't know what else I can do. I will probably buy it next month. None of the rapidshare/megaupload links online for Birth of Astro Boy and Astro Boy Vs Atlas are working either.

Good luck with that. Does the USA version have the other episodes in Japanese though?

The US release has all the episodes with dual audio. English/Japanese. Only the first two episodes are missing.

That's pretty awesome but who's brilliant idea was it to skip the two most important episodes? Ah Well. I already downloaded them from Youtube before they got blocked *w00t* I should put them on MegaUpload or something.
Thanks for the info :D
ADD: I'VE DONE IT!
Episode one -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U5XKYSNA
Episode two -> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GMVWGJ0W
I hope FLV format is alright. That's what they were when I downloaded them from Youtube and thought it'd be best since it's smaller. Realplayer should be able to run it. I can convert them if you need me to

Thanks again! Much appreciated! These are very low quality files though. Is it possible for you to upload better quality rips in .avi fromat? I want to be able to watch these with the rest of the box-set. Can somebody tell me what other differences there are between the American release and the Madman release besides the first two episodes? Are all the rest of the episodes uncut? I know the Madman box-set has more "deleted" scenes and bonus features but I am curious about the episodes themselves. Thanks a million! :)

Manga (US) release: Dual audio for all episodes. Better picture quality. Some of the short deleted scenes are inserted back into the episodes.

Madman (Australian) release: More deleted scenes as DVD extras. Original episodes 1+2 in Japanese with subtitles. Metal box. Expensive.

IMO, the Manga version is a better deal.
