i have the 10 disc set but yesterday i brought volume one and 2 which is all of the astro boy 1980s which is new in australia and to me compared to the red boxset the colour etc is cleaned up on the new dvds it just looks sharper to me and all the dirt on the film which is on the 10 disc set etc looks like it has been taken off it could be just me though these are the ones i have

Perhaps you could use your computer to capture some screenshots for us to compare. I would be curious to see if it has been cleaned up in any significant way.

The middle two do look a lot clearer, perhaps you could get some pictures from both the old dvd and the new dvd of the same scene, maybe we'll be able to see some obvious differences that way.
