The blue core

I've been thinking about the new fueling agent for Astro that was introduced in the film...the blue core. I think it was a great idea. Naturally, the old nuclear fuel couldn't be used, given modern sensibilities...and the idea that the core came from a falling star gives Astro an almost magical quality, and makes it more believable that he's more than an average robot. The power of the blue core can apparently heal, give life to "dead" objects (like Zog and Cora's cell phone) and has self-sustaining, unlimited energy that can be freely shared with others without weakening its owner. I really like all those qualities. And in the film, the core's glow added a measure of beauty as well (in the scene when he's reviving Zog, you can see the core's blue glow shine through Astro's shirt, kind of like E.T.'s heartlight. Sooo cool).
It'd be great if the core's power was explored in a little more depth in any sequel...that is, if there WERE going to be a sequel...sigh...
