I'm afraid this is the last series of reviews and scans until I can get copies of issues eight and nine...however, review #7 is due for tonight, and I'm planning a special art feature...
Issue seven in its entirety!
Now, for some of you members who are new, back in 1987-1989, an American company made a twenty-issue adaptation of Astro Boy. However, the series ended early because A) Tezuka died, B) they licenced the characters through a company that had nothing to do with Tezuka Productions, and C) the quality became terrible after multiple budget cuts and departing employees.
So, about three years ago, I found a few issues in a local shop. To ensure that no one ever buys another issue, I'm scanning the complete series.

it's nice to see a classical reference, which make you wonder did they watch/read Astroboy to know that scene or did they decided to make up an entire new universe of Astroboy?

Hey, those Sonic comics weren't all bad! Although I'm thinking of the era of Spaz's artwork...
NOW! had certainly seen the 1960's version, but pretended that the 1980's version didn't exist (despite taking a lot about Astro's robot parents from it). Apparently they had viewing access to some of Tezuka's manga, which amounts for a few things (i.e. a guy appearing later on resembles a bootleg Rock of Phoenix: Future).
You can try looking for your own copies of the comic, but it's hard to find eBay sellers who ship them outside the US, or even for reasonable prices (I just need one issue, Mile High Comics! I'm not paying $11.00 shipping for a $1.00 comic!) That's why I'm scanning them as soon as I can...to make sure everyone can see them without hassle.
