I was just thinking today about how cool it would be if you could change all the desktop icons to something Astro Boy. I had a weird thought. I change the name of my recycle bin to trash can. It would be cool if I could could use an icon of Trashcan from the movie. lol I think that would be cool.

I messed around in Photoshop and made some quick Trashcan recycle bins.

I could not find the top of the inside of his mouth so I just stretched the bottom inside, that is why it is blurry. But at the size an icon is at it is hard too tell. The icon it's self is on the small side to fit the open mouth. It works well with rocket dock (It is my new recycle bin:lol I have a .ico version but I don't know how too send it.

You can download an icon editor from download.com which will allow you to draw your own icons, for those of you who like to draw Astro! After all, an icon is nothing more than a 32 by 32 pixel bitmap image which is saved as an ico file. Once you download an icon editor, you can create icons for all the characters of the AstroBoy TV series! That might be a fun project for any one of our artistic members...

That is VERY doable: Once you have all the corresponding icons created as ico files (trashcan empty/full, my computer, my network, windows explorer, etc) you can download a program that let's you create a "desktop theme". This theme groups all these icons by these categories (Recycle Bin, Network, My Computer, etc) and stores them into one file so that others can install them on their machines so that the correct icon is assigned to the right program. Eg: The trashcan icon always goes with the Recycle Bin. We just need someone to use an icon editor to create the AstroBoy icons for us...

There is a web site that converts .png to .ico, and vice-versa, that is how I made the Trashcan I posted earlier into an icon.

It works! Just copy the images from before and convert them if you need the .ico
