Astroboy 2003 Figurines-what?

Postby The Tawashi Bus Hat » 15 years ago

I had no idea these existed until I was doing my weekend ebay surfing tonight.

Image

Found a set for $40 (including shipping) from Taiwan and bought them, along with the first set of figurines from the original series ($20).

When I get them in, I might post some hi-res shots of them.

Still waiting for my 2003 manga to come in, though... (darn volcanoes. Wheres Pluto when you need him?)

Has anyone else seen these before? I can't seem to find them anywhere else for this cheap.

Good lord, do want. By the by, how exactly did you get a hold of that manga? It appalls me that it never made it to the States, even though an English translation does exist, in Australia. Or did you order them trough there? Is it possible? How much would that cost?

I want them now... :tenma:

The only way I managed to get them was from an Australian seller on eBay. The other sites I found it on only shipped to Australia (and China, which is odd because they were in English, but anyway...). The ones I bought were about $30 US and $25 shipping. Yeah, they were a tad pricey, but I can understand the shipping costs.

I ordered them two weeks ago, but the volcano eruption is causing a delay. :C

I have the ones with Tenma and Denkou. I must've gotten them for about $7 each (not counting the shipping) from ToyCup back in 2007, when I was still in 9th grade.

The figures are moderately small, but they're very pretty. :) You'll certainly like them.

2007? Wow, either they disappeared or they didn't make many because they are NOWHERE now. 0_o

I'm figuring they are about the size of my Phantom Hourglass figures, which is perfect. It's cool to see all those details on something small like that. :3 But, I need to get another shelf now for them. -_-" Out of room.

Tenma should have gotten his own figurine, though... (I found an action figure of him on eBay a while back, but it was $90 x_x )

Well, actually, they originally were made in 2005. The sad thing about toys is that it's like an eon.

Ooh, that figure of Tenma from the 2003 series, in his black trenchcoat and looking to the side? I got into a bidding war for that years ago, but neither of us won because the seller cancelled the sale. :d oh:

I hate it when they do that. -_-" But yeah, it was that one. There is another one of Tenma out there from the 80's series...somewhere...I can find all the ones of Astro and Uran and even saw the Mr. Mustachio one, but not Tenma...

My thread! IT LIVES! D:

My figures have not come in yet. Have not even received any notices from that seller (but, that happens sometimes...)

Got my manga though. :3 That one reviewer was right, you DO have to open the books up really wide to read the inside panels. -_-"
