Here is an article from the May 2010 edition of Popular Science (online edition). As you can see -- the technology that took Tobio Tenma's life is comin' our way -- and as you can see from some of the comments, not everyone is convinced it's going to be a perfect solution to road rage and traffic tie-ups.

I prefer to drive myself. Just think of a nanny state car that will not let go to Burger King because it thinks I ought to lose weight.
Then will come smart shopping carts that return high fat items to the shelf when the shopper is looking the other way.

I hate to agree with you -- but I do! Here in New York they are trying to tax any sweetened soft drink by a penny an ounce! Funny thing is most people I know who are seriously overweight drink the diet stuff -- and the skinny folks drink the naturally sweetened. ooofah!
And people wonder why the Tea Party exists!!

They should try and make Astro-style rocket boots so everybody can just fly around. It would make cars completly obsolete
