Hi,

I am a primary school teacher who is over the next week reading my class Astro boy, I have bought the original series graphic novel, 1980's cartoon, the film, the book of the film and the comics of the film. What I really want to do is get hold of some original japanese comic scans so that the children can try to translate them. I have tried most place I can think of but alas no luck. Is there anyone kind enough to help?

Hi Isgraham =3

I don't know where you can buy the original Japanese manga, but there are some Jap scans on this link. There's about 4 volumes heres o.o

If you're looking to buy, you could try Yahoo! Japan or Amazon Japan. You may be able to find the original editions there, or the Tezuka Complete Works editions.

But otherwise, what the others provided should be fine.

Those Japanese books should be available for reading online at

Main books: http://renta.papy.co.jp/renta/sc/frm/item/430/

volumes 22 & 23: http://renta.papy.co.jp/renta/sc/frm/item/431/

Chronicles: http://renta.papy.co.jp/renta/sc/frm/item/358/

You should start here to get an English interface, though:

http://renta.papy.co.jp/renta/?rbc=1001?utm_source=MAIL&utm_medium=MAIL&utm_content=Renta&utm_campaign=Weekly13

However, when viewing these, the copy, paste, & print screen functions are disabled. The 1st 20 pages are free, but to go beyond, you must create an account and pay Y100 for each title viewed. I myself have viewed more than a few of Tezuka's manga this way.
