Happy Birthday to Astro's REAL Father: Osamu Tezuka (a day late!)

I'm sorry I didn't catch this yesterday, but I simply wanted to express my gratitude for Dr. Tezuka's work, and my thankfulness he decided to pursue art instead of medicine -- undoubtedly his creations enriched the lives of many more people than he would have reached as a doctor.
My birthday wish is two-fold -- that all his manga and anime be available - uncensored - in the world's major languages. It would be wonderful to have the Astro Boy corpus ready by 2013.
Second wish is for new, original Astro Boy anime and manga.
Thank you Dr. Tezuka, and I hope you are enjoying our forum!!

Thank you for this thread AprilSeven.
I only wish Dr. Tezuka were actually still alive to wish Happy Birthday to. He would have been in his mid-80's now and he was only 60.
Well Happy Birthday Osamu wherever you are. Thank you for Astro, Princess Knight, Black Jack, Kimba and all the rest. You will always be alive through your creations.

Happy birthday to Tezuka. He may be gone, but he is essentially immortal.
I agree with April's wishes. I also wouldn't mind if Kimba was localized in America, or if we could get those Astro Boy boxsets that had the original manga from their original printing, with some pages in color. I saw those at the Tezuka Shop in Japan, and they were quite 'Do Want'. But it just seems very unlikely. Tezuka's works just aren't that popular here in America...

He believed in reincarnation mostly, I think. But aw heck, let's not turn this into a religion debate. He is in a better place now.
