the sci fi channel here in aus has started running astro boy froma first series with a dr o shay what series is he from? its coming up next at 2.40am im sucha dedicated astro fan lol

Welcome back Carlymichelle - Dr. O'Shay is from the 2003 series. Glad to hear they are running it (wish that were so in the US)!

Wow, it's rare that sci-fi channels even air things that might be deemed cartoony. My sci-fi channel, Space, usually only airs the shows that are live-action. The only animated show we have there is Star Wars: Clone Wars. Lucky you.

Astro Boy can correctly fall into two catergories, Sci-fi and anime. But most people don't bother about the sci-fi part

That's the thing. Since it's animated, it's rare for it to appear on sci-fi channels today that usually appeal more to older teens and adults. The closest there ever was, was when my Sci-fi channel had a preview for the 2009 film. In fact, that's how I found out about the film's existence.
