Today is February 3rd, the day that Jetter Mars had premiered on Japanese televisions, and so today is his 34th Anniversary! Of course 34 isn't much of a milestone at all, it is something to be glad about nonetheless.

While Jetter Mars did not last very long (almost less than a year), the show had sprouted a short 'fad' during its run. Various merchandise were made, including quite a few manga by other mangaka, and some guide and art books too. Tezuka never did create his own JM manga, but he had drawn Jetter Mars in his own style before.

There aren't too many Jetter Mars fans here like myself, but hey, it's an anniversary anyhow!

I am very intrigued by Jetter Mars. It's as if Tezuka was saying "F" you! I can keep my Atom going no matter what!

I really hope someday we'll be able to watch he series. It gave Tezuka a chance to recast his original story, and I'd like to see what changes he made.

I must turn this into a comic somehow.

Yes, Mars is almost 1/2 the age of Atom. XD

But I have enjoyed what I've understood from the Spanish dub, and look forward to when I can see the Japanese one.

You can get Japanese raws somewhere on the net, but there are no fansubs.

And frankly, the chances of Jetter Mars getting official subtitles in English is pretty much non-existent. Spain and Italy have a better chance of getting subs, but that too is slim to none.

Indeed. I looked on Spain's Ebay page and I couldn't find Spanish dubs of any kind. Which I think is weird because I see the comments on Youtube and it looks like Mars was quite popular in Spanish-speaking countries.

According to the Japanese fan-site, a Capitan Jet (Italian dub) DVD was released... I'm not sure how long ago it was, nor what it does contain, but it's something.

I think Mars' fictional birth date is sometime in 2015.

I think Mars may be considered as Tezuka's own parody of Atom.

Unless you know the actual history behind Jetter Mars, I wouldn't really say so.
