I basically stumbled on this -- in this ONE EPISODE you'll see Astro, Uran, Rock, Black Jack, Pinoco, Princess Sapphire - DARTH VADER -- and wait til you see the role Tezuka gives
himself! This was just brilliant. Loved it!! I'm sure a lot of you have seen it, but for those who haven't (it's episode 26) here's a link

AprilSeven, you may want to look for The Robot Stuntman episode too. No Tezuka character has any role that is as prominent as in the Time Machine episode, but there are other Tezuka characters here and there in it (some less well known). Darth Vader and Princess Saphire are in this one, too.

Actually one of the 2 most recently released BJ manga books has a story with a plot that I believe was the inspiration for this story. Pinoko abducted and held upon the demand that BJ NOT operate.

It's one of my favorites of the "Astroboy" episodes, (and this episode is almost up there, in my opinion, with "Astro Boy" episodes: "Attack from Space" and "The Moon Monsters".) One of the other "Astroboy" episodes that features a "character crossover" from one of Tezuka's other series is "The Monster of Clarken". A character from another Tezuka Productions anime series, "Triton of the Sea" (a series not released in English) is featured at the beginning of the episode. The character's name is Pippy. (Although in the the American dubbed version, the character is known as Pepe. He's some kind of dolphin boy. I don't know the character's name from the Canadian dub.) The episode is also one of the better episodes.
I know it's elsewhere on this website, but I would really like to see Jayrath's notes on the making of this episode and who did what voices. It would probably be interesting to see his notes on the making of "The Time Machine" as well. Any way I'm recommending this episode to catch if you're are interested in seeing other Tezuka characters. Especially one not that well known in English!
