HI- i love Astroboy so much

HI- WHY DO THEY KEEP ON MAKING MOVIES that make no sense- cause they are only about violence and people getting hurt- which to me makes no sense- violence and hurting people is always wrong- but a movie that is sad but sweet like the ASTROBOY movie makes no money and yet i loved the movie so much. My QUESTION IS am i the only one here who loves ASTROBOY so much that she/me can't stand the idea of ASTROBOY being defeated and destroyed in his story or any made up story he is in. I had people who lived with me and my mother- grandparents and aunts who die and when they did i was so sad. Everytime i remember them it hurts- for real- and yet a fictional character named ASTROBOY has a place in my heart too. Want nothing bad to happen to anyone here and want the ASTROBOY story to always end happily- want reality to be happy but so much of the time it is not- hugs and hope we are always friends- that would be a happy continuing future

Okay, what is up with you? Honestly, on a daily basis I see these short, meaningless posts of nonsense. What is it with all the meaningless PM's you sent to people? ? You could titled this thread something that was straight to point other than "I <3 Astro Boy!" or something like that, at least.

Ghost, I know you're still tense after what happened yesterday, but I think that's being a bit too rude there.

Really, the majority of us had been ignoring this thread. You could have done the same.

Ghost, I agree that was rude. Avatargirl has her own way of posting, that's true. However, she is restricted to 4 posts a day. That restriction came after a little bit of an unfortunate public discussion many months ago. Some people said they were annoyed at her posts, but other users said they thought there was room for her here. Avatargirl has never done any harm to anyone here, and she enjoys being among us. Some people like to exchange with her too, so since she can't post that much anyway, it shouldn't be too difficult to skip her posts if you don't enjoy them. Since this is the result of a public discussion and if I recall correctly it was pretty much a consensus in the end, we won't go over that again.

If somebody gets a private message from avatargirl and isn't interested, just tell her you would rather not get them anymore, and I'm sure avatargirl will understand. If there is a problem, please send a private message to the moderators.

Well doesn't this forum have some kind of "block" feature. So I can't receive any PM's from her or see her posts? I think this site does but if so I haven't seen it.

As to the topic at hand, I do enjoy when the hero loses, or even dies, sometimes. The thing is, fiction is enjoyable because it makes us feel. And if feeling good is the only thing it gives you, then the work of fiction isn't doing its job completely. Basically, yes it will make me sad, but being sad is a good thing when it means you're invested and care about the imaginary characters and their struggles.

Sometimes these types of movies make us realize that the world is not all sweet, like Astro Boy. As F-Man said, it is good to feel whether it be negative or positive. It is sometimes wise to remember that both extremes exist, even if we don't really want to. I hear where you are coming from though, Avatargirl. People tend to flock in one direction. Don't let it despair you :)
