I do not recall if ASTROBUDDY made a thread about this, so, here it is:

This book is a bit small for one that covers all 193 episodes, but it is about this height & width of a standard magazine. By 'small,' I mean that #193 is on page 142; many are 2/page. By contrast, the other one in the BOX has 5 or 6 per page, but it covers a broader # of topics.

The format for coverage is a few small images, and a similar # of short paragraphs. #001, for example, has a para w/ an image of Atom helping Hamegg out of the burning tent beside it. Under this image is a sentence. A horizontal whitespace below which are 2 more images, Tenma at his 'piano' & Piko-chan. Short captions beside each, and a paragraph beside the whole. These make the right column; the left has "GUEST CHARA" (yes, in English) atop a shaded box. 1 paragraph, below which images of Ochanomizu & Hamegg w/ accompanying short captions. All this is the top 1/2 of page.

Lower half: a lot of text, and an image of Tenma bending over Atom (on table), W/ caption. BTW, this is page 19; 2-3 have a spread of Atom & details of 7 powers. $: Family members; 5-9: other characters, all w/ brief text. A small text box listing "STAFF."

5: Garon, Atllas, Roboid leader, Pluto, & The BK.

6: Denko, Bem, Zeo, & 2 others whose name I forgot  .

7: Ochanomizu, Higeoyaji, Tenma, Tawashi, & Nakamura.

8: Hamegg, Lamp, Fooler, Skunk, & Kin Sankaku.

9:  Lodar  , Nuu, The commander of the Bacteria Corps, The Pearl Mama, The Boy from outer space  , Robiette.

10-11: brief coverage of the 3 series.

12: figurines

13: figurines / museum.

14-15: DVDs boxed sets 1-6.

16-17: Listing of 193.

EPISODES 116-117 GREATEST ROBOT has 4 of the Great robots described on the lower 1/2 of the pages:  6-arms, Brando, Heracles, & Gesicht.

For contrast, the pages 132-133 (The BK) has scarce details about the other robots (as far as I can tell). I would like to know more about Cuzco, the one with scissors on his head, Whose name seems to come from a Mt. in S. America. The BK, being a morphing robot, also interests me, though I see nothing that, judging by images, details this.

Wow! Such detail! Don't let me pressure you but, GET YOUR BOOK PUBLISHED! No really your sense for detail is remarkable and also inspiring. Now down to details. So do you agree that it is a great companion to "Mighty Atom Complete Book"? It took me a while but I finally figured out BK meant "the Blue Knight"! Your comments were very interesting! The thing I like best about "193" is the way they illustrate each anime series. By using images as comparisons of what in Japanese are known by one name throughout. In the English versions for example: Uran is known by four different names--Astro Girl, Urane and Sarah and Zoran. They also use the image of Atlas from each different anime. First as Ferno, then as Atlas, Atlas. I really enjoyed the images they used to illustrate each series showing how they handled the different Astro Boy family members of each anime. I think these are definitely two books that belong in every Astro Boy fans library!

I  :astro: :D

Thanks for the compliment. It was easier than scanning, & uploading; though any more than those few pages, would not be.

I really cannot say w/o being fluent in Japanese how good this is, though by merely viewing pages, it seems great.

They also use the image of Atlas from each different anime. First as Ferno, then as Atlas, Atlas.

'image'? do you mean name? I am on pg 10-11, & see images, but assume 'Ferno' is in the J-text.

I'm pretty sure Ferno was Atlas's dub name, so obviously the name wouldn't be included, but I'm probably just stating something everyone already knows.

So it's essentially a Japanese episode guide?

Ooohh man - WHY can't this be in ENGLISH? That's it. If I ever win the lottery, I'm getting Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese!! Better yet, I'LL pay someone to translate it and then share it with you guys!!!
