It's about Astro lacking enough energy,and the American army saved him in reture for his use in Vietnam War.But for the sake of the lives and peaces of the civilians,he foughts toughly againist America's despotic power,regardless of the bully and treats of american soldiers.
What impressed me most what that several minutes before he use up energy,a woman gave birth to a baby,and seeing the baby all right,astro presented a gratified smile and collapsed.....
At the book ,my nose ache and my eyes streamed......

That is a very sad and touching story. I have the complete manga collection and I'm in the process of reading through them all.

The sad thing is that unbeknownst to Astro all those people he used up the last of his energy to protect get wiped out later anyway including the mother and her baby.

I think that was one of the best short stories Tezuka did with Astro Boy, mostly because it wasn't just about robots bt humans as well and on a real war too.

=( A shame they've never adapted that into an anime episode, same with the what is it called 'Tales of Astro Boy?' ya know the ones that included Hoshie and then that alien women o.o

Yeah, I believe Angel of Vietnam is one chapter from Tales. It's truly a great series. Greatest Robot on Earth is overrated, I say!
