Villains with hoods? Aid requested.

Hello Astro Boy forums! I'm running a panel at Sugoicon this year, dedicated to villains. One of the villains happens to be Gargoyle, from Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water. He and his goons are notorious for wearing hoods. Nice, big, pointy ones. Here's the thing. What I have always thought is that wearing hoods in Japanese popular culture is a way to give villains a retro feel. It's supposed to be an omage to Astro Boy villains who wore them back in the black and white days. Problem. For the life of me, I can't find an example to back up my theory. Does anyone know where I can get some screen shots or photos of a villain wearing a hood/mask thing? From a Tezuka work preferably. I would be appreciative. Alternatively, if I am flat out wrong, telling me so would be helpful too.

I do know some, but I don't remember which episodes they come from, if you give me some time I'll find some for you?

Welcome to the forum, DarkSun. There are LOTS of villians in hoods as you describe in Astro Boy. Don't have time at the moment to pull some aside for you, but you can get a good start by checking out the Image Index - begin with Page 2 and you'll quickly find screen shots of many of the 60's episodes.

Dear Astro Boy forum
I did check out the images forum. While I did see a lot of cool images (particularly of Epsilon I must say) I didn't see any promising pictures of hoods. The closest I got was one from Three Beings from Outer Space and those were shadowy background figures. If I am missing something from that thread let me know. Otherwise (once again) any samples people have would be much appreciated. Oh, and Sugoicon is not until the beginning of November. So if you want to take your time, lovingly rewatching your favorite episodes to find the stuff, you can.

Off hand I know of villains wearing the KKK-style 'hoods,' but by 'hood' I usually think of the thing that the GRIM REAPER wears. Please specify which you want.
