I was following Astro Boy's twitter and it's a great news, please have the drum rolls!!!!
IT IS A OFFICAL THAT I ANNOUNCE THAT..... THERE IS GOING TO BE......
ASTRO BOY 2!! A PREQUEL!!!!
I KNOW! I SCREAMED WHEN I FOUND OUT!!! I KNEW ASTRO WILL BE BACK! I GOT PROOF! HERE'S THE LINK, TAKE A LOOK! XD!

Ummm, a prequel is a work that supplements a previously completed one, and has an earlier time setting so this would not be Astro Boy 2, per se.
Regardless, these are good comic books. I have the "Movie adaptation" series, also
published by IDW in 2009.
The thought of a sequel is a good one anyways.

No . . . wait this book has been around for a couple years - I've read it! It's not really a "prequel" - but it's also not "after" the movie story -- it's very odd!
Unless something on Twitter pointed to an actual movie, I'm afraid you just saw a promotion for the graphic novel (which came out the same time as the 2009 movie).
