That is another short film that was done in 2000, I don't remember the name of it. It's about a new year's party being held for Tezuka who goes missing and there's a whole mystery to find him.

I believe the title is "Last Great Mystery of the 20th Century" and the plot is as alittleacorn describes it. It was made as a tribute to Dr. Tezuka. It was orignally shown only in the theater at Osamu Tezuka World, but was released on DVD. A dealer on eBay used to sell copies that had English subtitles and were probably made for sale in Hong Kong, because the English subtitles are not grammatically accurate. The movie is 42 minutes long, but I believe is currently out of print. So I guess the only way to watch it now is on youtube!

Okay, it looks like I really need to clarify a few things now...
I'm sure you all noticed that in the past months, F-Man was pretty much always the one to remove links to copyrighted material here. He was the quickest of us to spot them, that's the only reason why. F-Man can't come as often on the forum right now so he chose to leave the moderating team; it didn't have anything to do with the rest of us not agreeing with his decisions over copyrights issues. So if some of you concluded that we were now going to be more lenient, this is wrong.
Now please believe me when I say the following. We do realize that it is very difficult to get videos like this one legally, that the sources are often accessible only through sites in the Japanese language, that not all of us have the money... We're all huge Astro Boy fans here and the truth is that we would all be happy to share everything we can in between us, because we know others would enjoy it too. Who doesn't like to make others happy?
There's the debate over copyrights and respecting the authors and the work that's been done. We could discuss this at length and I'm sure there would be many different opinions. But no matter what our opinions are, the reality is that the US authorities have shut down websites in the past over copyrights issues, and there's also one particular law coming up that could be even thougher. I'm not exaggerating, the day I made ressearches a few months ago, I didn't have a hard time finding examples. So basically, no matter what our personal opinions are, we want to make sure this site remains up and we need your collaboration. Please understand, we're all part of the same community - we're all members before being moderators and we understand how disappointed you may feel, but we don't think we have any other choice. Mark has agreed as well.
We've spoken of how to incorporate guidelines over copyrights in our rules page, and we've probably waited too long already to communicate these effectively here. In short, there were a few questions remaining over a few details so that's why they are still not on the page yet. But I think we're pretty close to a conclusion on these and we should post something more officially in the next few days.
As for the above video... It's a full video, not a small part. I understand that ASTROBUDDY says that it's not commercially available anymore. I don't know if that changes anything, because who knows if it couldn't be available again one day. Even if this could be acceptable, I would also like to make sure that there is no mistake, but it's hard to make the verification quickly since I don't know Japanese. I don't want to take any chance so for now I removed the links, and should we decide they aren't a problem, I'll put them back.
