Well, thanks to Satus for finding Mozu books and thumbnails of the twenty picture books (or story books) published by Mushi Prod. circa 1965 to feature episodes of the original Astro Boy series. All twenty, with the exception of one, featured adaptations of TetsuWan Atomu episodes. So, I thought I'd post them here with the English translations of the original Japanese titles for each book, along with the title of the English episode and number from the original Astro Boy series starring Billie Lou Watt as Astro Boy. Let us begin:

From left to right:

1.) "The Space Crab" ("The Gigantic Space Crab" (47)
2.) "Miss Uran" ("The Strange Birthday Present" (25)
3.) "Mars Expedition" ("Expedition to Mars" (3)
4.) "The Sphinx" ("The Sphinx" 4.)

5.) "The Baby (Elephant), Pula" ("Jimbo, the Great" (51)
6.) "The Red Cat" ("The Mysterious Cat" (39)
7.) "Undersea Kingdom" ("Kingdom of Sea" (24)
8.) "Atlas" ("Don Tay"s Infernal Machine" (26)

9.) "The (White) Planet" ("Silver Comet" (8)

10.) "Robot Land" ("Hullabaloo Land" (9)

11.) " Miss Uran's Adventure (The Greatest Robot on Earth (116 & 117)
[The only book to feature episodes not included in the English dub.]

12.) "The Green Queen"
[The only book to feature a story apparently not adapted from the anime series.]

13.) "Warriors of the Night" ("Devil Doll" (58)
14.) "The Country of the Future" ("Funnel to the Future" (69)
15.) "School for Robots" ("Astro Boy Goes to School" (37)
16.) "Shogun Atom" ("General Astro" (96)

17.) "Queen of the Wasteland" ("Jungle Kingdom") (""Jungle Mystery" (93)
18.) "Dolphin Civilization" ("Dolphins in Distress" (75)
19.) "Rafflesia" ("The Flower Monster" (61)
20.) "Cleopatra" ("Cleopatra's Heart" & "The Return of Cleopatra" (44 & 45)

Now if I understand it correctly Mozu Books is a store in Osaka, Japan and they have all 20 story books for sale for a mere 75,000yen.
(I'll let you guys figure out what that is in your currency, but it should be a bargain for a real collector!)

Okay, to clarify, the 1960's version of The Greatest Robot on Earth was not dubbed into English? (I tried looked up episode lists beyond Wikipedia but got annoyed.) I guess USA censorship took it out then?

I guess USA censorship took it out then?[/QUOTE] Yes, according to The Astro Boy Episode Guide of the 1960s series published by The Right Stuf, International, the later episodes of the Japanese series began to take on more serious material which at the time may not have seemed suitable for broadcast in the U.S.A. due to what may have been perceived as too violent or objectionable material for children's programming. That may have been the main reason "The Greatest Robot on Earth" was not dubbed. This is strange because these same episodes are featured so prominently in the later series. Any way the picture book itself features scenes from the episode that feature Uran chastising and arguing with Pluto when Atom shows up.

Oh cool, you made the thumbnails bigger. I enjoy finding out the equivalent 60's episodes too.

By any chance do you know if Mozu Books ship outside Japan? I tried to find out, but couldn't see anything about it.

If your browser is Windows Internet Explorer and you have Google translator, you can e-mail them yourself and they will let you know. I am sure if you send them 75,000yen plus the cost for shipping and handling they will accommodate you. You can contact them @ shop@mozubooks.com. Or use their contact page. Good luck!
