In the manga there is an Atlas in volume 18 created by Dr. Ram completely different to the one in volume 23 Created by count Giss. Do these two Atlas' have any relation? Thanks.

The version in volume 18 is the original version of Atlas. The version in volume 23 is based on the revised version of Atlas as he appeared in the 1980s Astroboy animated series.

It's interesting, because the Atlas in Volume 18 actually is similar in design to the 2003 Atlas. I wonder if the 2009 movie were to have a sequel, if they'd work Atlas into it...

That would be cool. I think Full Metal Alchemists Vic Mignoya would be a good voice-over for Atlas.

That can't be the case because the manga ended in 1968.

I guess you have not seen all the volumes of Dark Horse's "Tezuka's Original Astro Boy" or else you would know that the series not only reprinted the stories from the original 1951 to 1968 manga series, but also the stories that made up what are known as the "Astro Boy Chronicles" from 1967 to 1969 and the last series of manga tales Tezuka drew as a tie-in to "New Mighty Atom" from 1980-1981. Not to mention other Astro Boy tales Dr. Tezuka drew after the magazine "Shonen" ceased publication in 1968.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Do you know the chronology of the astroboy manga ?

E.g the timeline.

Because in some volumes he has 1,000,000 horsepower but other times he has 100,000.

Thanks.
