I know Fauna, who hasn't been around in a while unfortunately, knew something about the Canadian dubs (her parents worked at a TV station. They are notoriously hard to come by. I shame they are no longer on YouTube, but there's that copyright issue. Maybe contact Viki and see if THEY can put them up!!

There's absolutely no chance of that happening, but if you ask me, we have the Japanese version with subtitles (on DVD), so we already have the best thing and can thankfully forget about all the other inferior versions.
As for Fauna, I think she had 3 episodes in all.
EDIT: oh nooo, our avatars are so similar!

Unfortunately, it doesn't exist. From what I can remember, it was posted here that nobody even knew where the masters were anymore.

The French version of that series had the same edits/cuts made to it, so it still gives us an idea of what it was like. But, of course, it's not like hearing the English voices.
F-Man and April, I had noticed the similar position of the characters in your respective avatars!

And they are not even from the same series!

Okay, here is how it works! The rights to the 1980s Astroboy are owned by Tezuka Prod. Originally Tezuka Prod. joined into production of the series with NTV. They then licensed the series to different companies in the various countries who then dubbed the series for broadcast in their respective countries.
In the case of the English version Tezuka Prod./NTV hired a US based firm to dub the series, then offered that version for sale in English speaking countries. In the US, the series did poorly and received limited distribution. A Canadian firm bought the series re-dubbed and reedited the series to meet Canadian broadcast standards and aired their version of the show solely in Canada for however long they had the license.
Since Tezuka Prod. had their own English version (which proved very popular in Australia) they would have no interest in marketing the Canadian version. Once the license to broadcast the show in Canada had expired, there would be no reason to keep the Canadian version, so the prints were destroyed. The prints that still existed were those that were in the hands of collectors who were fortunate enough to have recorded the show when it originally aired. Since video recording was in its infancy at the time of the original broadcast only a few episodes survived. The ones that were shown on YouTube were removed because the person or persons who uploaded them lost their membership to YouTube due to many copyright violations.
But I believe if you google "Canadian Astroboy" there is at least one site that still shows at least one episode.
