Possable dub name mistake in the 80's series???

I was watching some episodes of Astro Boy off of my 80's series DVD set and here's something that caught my attention. As some of you may know in the American English dub Daddy Walrus says his real name is Albert Duncan, but I notice in the episode The Death Balloon I think, when Skunk asks him "Who are you?" Daddy Walrus says his name is Sam Banister. I don't know if it was a dub mistake or if he was using a fake name in the dub but I remembered when I watched the subbed version he said his real name of Shunsaku Ban and now that I look Sam Banister looks like a sort of English equivilent for Shunsaku Ban. What do you think? Hey Bob Gonzales (English dub voice actor for Daddy Walrus), if you are ever reading this could you please clear this up for us?

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a mix up since his name so rarely came up. Nice finding, I never noticed that little detail! :D

The episodes were dubbed in an order not shown on the disc, and I think they gave him one civilian name, but then forgot it and stuck to another. It's like in the Canadian dub when Ochanomizu was called Dr. Cole Green in "The Robot Circus", but then his name was later and forever brought up as Professor Peabody.

(On that note, nothing beats Shunsaku Ban's Canadian name, Max McNugget.)

McNugget?? Was that prior to the existance of the infamous CHICKEN McNugget?

All these different names for the characters is almost overwhelming. And try as I might, deep inside I just DON'T think of them as Tobio, Atom, Tenma and Ochanomizu but Astor, Astro Boy, Dr. Boynton, and Dr. Elefun because that was who they were to me for almost 40 years.

I think Garfield said it best when he said once "this guy has more names then the Istanbul phone-book" lol
