Personally I think our world almost has enough technology to make him maybe not the super powers but the robot himself. It would be so cool I would want to hug him so much.

I recall there is a thread about that, perhaps you could look back and see which topics already got created.
I believe it's not possible in our current time, since the robot should have human emotions and also being noble and righteous all times.
It would be troublesome if the robot rebelled for example.

well thats why they would make robot laws. plus astro boy is a good guy

Also, the makers should be sure that somebody would not try to destroy the robot model for futile reasons.
He could not endure what Atom did in the series.

Have you ever watched all the episode in the 1980's version and the 2003 version the only one i didn't get to see was astro's first love.

Atom's first love is in Tezuka channel, you can see a thread about it, other than that is kinda off-topic.
It would awful to have robot haters destroying new robot models with feelings in real life.
Robots with emotions and capable of living happily with humans could be a nice ideal and specially for those who cannot have children.
Imagine a daughter robot like Uran, but less reckless?

In the current situation, it is impossible to build a robot such as Atom. Might be soon, but not yet.

Robots laws are impossible to enforce or the free will of robots would be non-existant. They are interesting in the Asimov novels, but don't really work in the real world.

Creating a robot with human emotions could be troublesome and specially if the robot learned the meaning of hatred and gone insane against humans.
So, I suppose the scientists would have to put a fail safe device in the robot in order to prevent it to commiting crimes.
However, it's pretty difficult to imagine a background which robots could live in harmony with humans in real life as many humans could still go corrupt in the future which such technology is available and use these robots for crimes.
Anyway, a robot which fights for peace would not quite work in real life as it could be destroyed so early by vandals or trying to help out. Also the chance of robots getting against humans could be pretty big...
Reality is much more cruel than the fiction...

you know how in astro boy robots and humans were fighting maybe later in our future that could happen and we will eventually have to become friends
