I've watched that episode.
It had issues with Peter Pan, so it got banned.
Atom realized that he would not be able to grow up, but his friends got kidnapped and he helped a boy to find them.

In the end, he asked if his friends would keep their friendship since he can't grow up.
And they said that no matter how they grow up, they would keep the friendship.

With this we learned that Atom loves how he is and that he is not willing to abandom his body to transfer his mind to a older looking robot model.

There is no law or standard which can force him to abandom the body which he owns, after all IT'S his body and he can follow his own dreams even looking like a child forever.

If he can even lead adults, despite looking like a child, then why they would have to abandom his own body?

Anyone can live according to their own bodies and limitations, even Atom can keep living with a child like appearance.

And we should NOT look down at others for how they look like.

I bought the disc that it is on; I have watched it, but not taken any screen shots yet. Toshio describes it well, though omits a few details.

The Pirate captain (a children's entertainer) decides it is a shame that the kids who love him now will grow up, and forget about him (I think). So, he concocts a way of depriving them of growth, etc. To capture them, he sprays dust in their eyes, but, as I recall, Tamao being nearsighted, is protected by his spectacles. Another boy, being wheelchair bound, he outright rejects, wanting only the able-bodied kids in his paradise. So, this boy, learning of the abductions, seeks Atom, who modifies the boy's hover chair, & they both fly to the rescue.

Anyway, who said that Atom should change bodies?

That episode proves that he can keep living in his actual body and seek happiness even with his child looks.

The series showed us for long that having a tough look and larger bodies is not everything.

Also, another important message in that episode is that anyone can live with their body limitations.

Atom befriended a boy who is hover chair bound which can still have dreams for the future even being not able as other children, so Atom also realized that he can live as he is and how he looks.

No body limitation like not being able to grow up can forbid Atom from seeking happiness and having plans for his future and he is a good example for those who are getting depressed with their own body limitations.

Limitations exists for us to accept and still seek our future even so and NOBODY can just get sick of their OWN body.

His body is not just a clothing which he can discard anytime, if he transfer his mind to another body, then he would not be the same.
It would not be the body which he had born with and the older looking Atom would look like a cosplayer rather than himself.

Plus, he would not be a good example for a boy who cannot walk.
After all, it's not because that boy can't walk that he should give up of living just because he cannot change bodies, right?

It doesn't make sense thinking that Atom should transfer his mind to another body as if he can get sick of being himself.

Looking like a child forever is NOT a curse, because he can still enjoy happiness even so.

Imagine this:

Atom meets a boy who lost his right hand and had to replace it with a prosthetic one...

Boy: I'm depressed...
I've lost my hand in an accident and now I can't draw like I used before...

Atom: It's sad, but do not get discouraged.

Boy: How you can understand?
After all, if you lose a arm, then you can just have it replaced by one identical.

Atom: What you say is true, but there is something which I cannot do...

Boy: What would be that?

Atom: I'm a robot, so I cannot grow up physically like you would.
But, even so I still loves being myself and I can even still enjoy happiness.
So, do not feel bad just because you lost your right hand.
You can still practice and draw even better than the time which you still had your right hand.
Our body limitations cannot prevent us from enjoying happiness and seek our future.
If I can't give up of being myself just because I cannot grow up physically, then you can't give up of drawing just because you're having to deal with a prosthetic hand.

Boy: You're right...
I cannot just give up, because of my limitations.

As you see, Atom could not be a good example for that boy if he had gave up of his original body, right?

I watched it on-line, but I cannot give you the link for the episode.
But, anyway you can buy the Korean DVD which have it^^

My only disappointment is the fact that Uran was left out as if she didin't existed.
Also, I believe she would not have concern about growing up as well, since she is not based in somebody who died and neither share memories of other people like Atom have memories of Tobio.

She would accept the fact she can't grow up physically just like Atom.
Both are happy of being what they are and nobody can just think they can be sick of being themselves.
