Cross is a spy robot of the police who tried to flee from his duty.

Then, Atom and Delta were requested to retrieve him and find out the reason which he was deserting his duty.

Then they found the place which Cross was trained as a spy and also learned he was the best spy robot.
His teacher even said that Cross was very much like a human and enjoyed music.

He also had a friendship with a orphan girl called Michelle.

Atom figured that Cross had his reasons, but Delta could not forgive him for deserting.

While asking around they meet with Nikko who is a female spy robot who got a musical disc from Cross which he have given to her.

Nikko tould that he accepted the proceedure which would reset his memory and turn him into another robot.

So, that's why she had that disc from him...

But, despite this he tried to flee and by fleeing the virus was activated.

Atom and Delta through research discovered that Cross could not just give up of being himself because he still loved music so much and wanted to watch the concert of his favourite singer, so he tried to flee to avoid being brainwashed.

In the end, Cross superiors tried to destroy him, because he refused to brainwash himself and they mocked the fact he enjoyed music as if he don't had the right for enjoying it just like humans would do.

Then, Delta decided to save Cross and both fleed, Atom applyed the vacine and they got cornered in a cliff where Cross admitted that he don't wanted to turn into a human.

What he wanted was to be just himself.
Robots should not force themselves to become too alike humans, that what Cross had learned by experience.

It don't matter how things get harsh, we cannot give up of being ourselves.

And Atom would not be able to understand Cross desire if he allowed himself to transfer his mind to another robot model.

If Atom had meet a robot who was trying to flee because his creators wanted to transfer his mind to another robot, then he would understand.

He is happy as he is and is what matters, just like Cross who could not have his mind wiped out.

There are people who pass for horrible situations that they even think about forgething everything and pretend to be another people, but they can't do that.

We must be ourselves and surpass every difficult and frustrating situations.

I thought his name was clause?

It would make sense that Atom would care for Clause not wanting to be transferred, if that were Atom sure he wants to stay in his body

uhhhhh that's not exactly how the story went on my DVDs. They weren't going to turn him into a human - they were going to erase his memory, and he didn't want them to do that.

In fact he DIDN'T want to be the kind of robot he was "built to be" - and Atom understood that - to remove his entire memory is literally taking his life away.

And yes, his name was Claus (or Klaus?) on the version I saw

I said the japanese name.

Anyway, we MUST be ourselves.

We should not give up of being what we are, both physically or mentally.

It's a illusion not accepting our own appearance and trying to to become extremelly slimmer just to fit a silly fashion.
How many have fallen in that illusion?
Anyone can be happy accepting their own bodies.
An aged person cannot get sick of their own body as well, right?

Those who think they should try to become something which they cannot, also don't know what they're doing.
It's not because we like japanese culture that we should act like japanese and have the Japan as our last stop.

Cross also realized that is a waste for a robot trying to become a human and that he should be satisfied to be himself.

The series shows us once again that we should not give up of ourselves and accept our life no matter how harsh is.

Giving up of being yourself is not that easy and Cross realized the waste which he would be doing if he accepted having his memory reseted.

If Atom like the idea of being himself, then he understand Cross reasons.
In Atom's case he have a child body, but he likes being himself and is satisfied with his physical appearance.
Cross in other hand enjoy his personality and don't wish to become another person by forgotting everything.

Nobody should give up of being themselves just to fit desire of others or fit a certain fashion.

I'm not sure how much it was changed in the dub, but Cross left the scene with the message: "If you wish to become a great police officer, then JUST be yourself!"

So in the Japanese version of this story Cross is going to be turned into a human? And that's what he doesn't want to have happen?

Just trying to follow the story...

These are very great screenshots! Though, If I remember clearly the story was about Klaus wanting to see a musician because he admired her music. And I think that he wanted to become human cause he thought it was weird for a robot to like a Person's music. Also, I think it was illegal for them to.
