Astro in Japan

My aunt and uncle live in Japan. They told Astro is used in commercials. And in a resturaunt they go to they show old Astro Boy cartoons.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl6YYMHJh8E Well this wasn't the commercial I was looking for, I was actually looking for this cute Toyota commercial they had back in 2010 with Atom and Uran flying around looking at cars and Atom says something cute about their horsepower. I can't find that anymore...

Lucky ducks. We don't even use old American icons in commercials (except like Peanuts), but they use Astro Boy. That's messed up.

I have but one question; if the restaurant plays Astro Boy episodes, do they rotate between all three anime versions, or is it just the classic 60s series?

There is also a train station on the Tokyo subway that plays the Astro Boy theme music whenever a train is pulling into or about to leave the station. You can find a video of it on Youtube.

Hey if type Astro boy commercial in youtube and go to the bottom of page one there is a cute gum commercial with him.

Now why don't they import that stuff? Do they sell Astro trading cards (with gum) in Japan like we would here with the Avengers?
