Hoping someone may be able to help me out ith some info on a item I have come across...?

I have a small plastic box, chrome plated, it looks like it may have been for small pencils or a cigarette case.

It has astro on the front of it, in the air, in front of an aeroplane, with a green colored circle in the bottom right corner that says "HAPPY NEW YEAR 1967"

What is it and what is it worth...? cause correct me if I'm wrong but in 1967 astro was only a comic strip in a newspaper...

PLEASE HELP...!!!

There was the B&W anime in 1963.

Astro Boy (or "Mighty Atom") first appeared in April of 1951, I believe, and starred in his own manga series by April of 1952, about a year later. (I could /totally/ be wrong about the months, though.) As mentioned above, he earned his first animated television series in 1963. I don't think he was in anything at the time 1967 rolled around, though (though I think the series ended in 1966).

There was also an abysmal live action taken TV show in Japan in the late 50's (now on dvd).
