Welcome to the forums, Lumera,
I couldn't get the video to run on my computer, but it might be one of the "special movies" that were created about 10 years ago, and never released outside of Japan. Someone else might be able to see/interpret it for you...

I'll have to see if I can watch it, but I can already guess what it is. It's probably based off of my least favorite manga story that I've read so far; it hardly has Astro in it, even. The story itself is just terrible (more in the sense of the storyline itself, rather than quality).
Edit: Oooh, it actually works for me! Goody! And it already looks like it's going to be somewhat different than the manga story that it's more than likely based on.
I have a feeling that this is newer than "ten years ago", especially since the museum the boy runs into is called the "Metro City Museum". Sorta makes me think that this may have once been intended to be seen by American audiences, as the name of the city in the Japanese dub of the 2003 series was different than in the English dub. This could even be very new, depending on how long it's been up there. Maybe someone else can tell you.
Moar Edit: Actually, that could have been a mistranslation on the fansubbers' part. It probably was Metro City. And this was very different. And short. Much too short. I want to see more of it. ;-;

No idea how the city is called in the English dub, but it's Metro City in Japanese.
Anyway, this is from one of the Osamu Dezaki-directed pieces. You can rent the download over at
Videx with a credit card.

I was able to watch it too (Gota love Linux!) It's kinda creepy in a way. Looks like a cross between Astro and the Matrix! The old man looks like Dr. O. many years into the future. The kid would be playing the Neo part (or would that be Astro?).
