There were several stories in the Astro Boy canon where Astro had to fight a copy of himself.
In the "robot spaceship / Phantom Spaceship" Astro is captured and analyzed, and a carbon copy of him is made. In the manga version this story, the copy is shown with loose wires sticking out of his head, but in the anime the double looks just like him.

The same idea appears in "atom vs atom", a story that was not included in the ELV.

Finally, there was "Astro's been Stolen!", but this time Astro's AI has been transfered into a grown up body and he must destroy his original body which has been taken over by a criminal AI.

I wonder if there are any other such stories?

On a similar note ....
There was a story in the manga where Cobalt and Astro were in different schools had got into some kind of wrestling or boxing match against each other and nearly destroyed each other in the match. I don't know if that was made into an anime. Offhand I don't remember which story that was.
