So, I was browsing ebay, and I found something pretty awesome;

I know, right?

Now I'm personally still waiting to see if AnimeSols has any plans to fund the Japanese version of the 2003 series, but I figured that this was a good find. Only six days left, let's let the bidding begin!

How many DVD's did they release the series on? It shouldn't take more than ten disks for a good level of compression (assuming dual layer). The ELV was on only 5 disks, and they look decent. Of course they are NOT wide screen which wouldn't require double the number of disks. Lets see, 25 hours of programming, a DVD can hold easily hold a 2.5 hour movie in wide screen with several languages of Dolby 5.1 surround PLUS extra features. So 10 disks is PLENTY! What did they do????

BTW, they are probably region 2 disks so make sure your DVD player can handle that. If anyone has an Oppo video machine I can find you the cheat code to enter on the remote control to make it play ALL regions!

OK, looks like they only got 4 episodes per disk! So there are 13 disks to hold 50 episodes plus some extras.

I certainly hope animesols will fund a DVD release of the 2003 series in actual wide-screen.

Let's never forget the R3 DVDs that actually have English subtitles on them.

Those are tempting, I'd like to get the disks with the first two atlas stories on them. Wonder what the shipping cost is? My Oppo DVD player is good for R1-6.

I would even go to Japan for the simple purpose of getting those original DVDs.

If you have that much mad money to spend on the air fare I envy you! But if you make the trip be sure to visit Takarazuka and see the Tezuka manga museum ( and take lots of pictures) .

Oh yeah, I forgot about those, Well, I'll see. I wouldn't mind owning these, though I would like to see if AnimeSols has any plans in store for bringing the 03 series over n Japanese format. So for now, I'll just wait.
