This episode is certainly a version of IVAN THE FOOL.





Another passenger space flight, & tragedy is about to strike!




After the propulsion & such are damaged, the passenger section ejects.






Her name is 'Minako,' I think.








As with IVAN, this asteroid or planet has an atmosphere.


Everyone went outside to explore, & this one man found something interesting.


Atom's lunch; what does this guy want with it?






Atom's other girlfriends will surely be jealous!


Minako has found craters that vent flammable gas.








The passengers all gather around a crude map of the solar system.





Everyone is eating, but Atom:





































This is the 1st I have ever seen the actual refueling port.




Miniko shakes the energy tube, which, though it should be full, makes a sloshing sound indicating it is nearly empty.

It has usually been stated that Atom's machine guns are located in his hips but they are usually drawn sticking out of his butt.

This is the first image I've seen that clearly shows the guns mounted at his hips.

BTW, I noticed an animation error. Note that in two frames Atom's chest panel is shown with the hinges on different sides!

I might have noticed that, but forgot about it. But that is nothing, compared to the bank system error in ATOM GOES TO SCHOOL!

oH, ABOUT THE HIPS OR BUNS, ISSUE, I have seen some very good hips Machine guns images in a different episode.

O.k., the kneeling guy had found gold in my 1st post, used Atom's fuel to power a tool with which he mined it, then, obviously built a rocket & attempted to return to Earth, leaving the others behind. :d evil:

Another night falls, & with it, the creatures return:

Atom must slaughter them as they approach the lifeboat.

Again, I am stumped.


Another inconsistency: there was a proper refueling port in an earlier image, & it was on the left side of the opening.


The rescuers have arrived, but how did they find the castaways? Where is Minako? BTW, the rescuers refueled Atom in the previous image.



Minako is out lighting the gas that flows from the craters; but why?











Skipping ahead, just a bit, the others had already boarded the rescue ship, which had already lifted off. Atom & Minako arrived just as it was gaining altitude. I guess that there was a compelling reason why they had lifted off before without Minako.










So, unlike Ivan, the greedy guy is among those who are rescued.

Oops, seems that their torsos got cut off in that once scene... maybe their top halves weren't supposed to be seen at all in that shot, and there was a bit of a technical error? Something that didn't quite go as planned...

I did not even notice that the cutoff was below the top edge of the screen!

That could explain the funny look on the guy sitting down and looking up!

I think he was telling Atom they were out of water. He might be asking Atom to look for water, I think Atom was telling him that his energy was low. Right after that scene Atom drills underground and finds an underground stream. Next they are BATHING in hot water!

Watching the episode it actually looked like Atom & Minako arrived at the ship just seconds before it took off.

Also they were rescued because Minako had set many of those gas fountains on fire, spelling out SOS that the rescue ship saw from space.

TVs used to have overscan until recently, in fact many new TVs still do, so the cutoff on Astro would definitely be outside the screen. Not sure about the girl though, it seems pretty big...

But TVs were probably so low quality that you wouldn't notice.
