Heh.
Looks like The Weather Channel is the only one that observes the name for that winter storm though. Also, it looks like the name comes from the dog in The Jetsons, whose name is also Astro (look at the first tweet in the article I posted). The names they came up with for the winter storms are pretty awesome:

The "W" storm will be voted on in an online poll on Facebook, Twitter and weather.com.
It is funny to see a winter storm named Astro though. Jetsons' dog aside, we can pretend that it relates to our favorite robot hero as well.
