I've been watching some YouTube videos by an American couple living in Japan for a few years. This video is about the Yamanote subway line in Tokyo. I've posted a link to a part of the video where they mention this station, famous because this is where the Ministry of Science was supposed to be located. When trains enter and leave the station, they play the Tetsuwan Atom theme.

Technically the Yamanote line isn't really a subway since most, if not all of it, is above ground or in the open. Also it's not a third rail system, but makes use of a pantograph to pick up power from a HV overhead wire. I guess that makes the line more of a LRV system, though the cars appear to be built to Pullman standard dimensions.
The Yamanote line is the busiest line in the Tokyo subway system, it's a loop line with 29 stations and connects with just about every other line in the system. Trains run on less than a two minute headway during the busiest time of the day. (NYC's Lexington Ave express, the busiest line in the system runs on a 5 minute headway during rush hour (actually several routes share the same track so the headway between trains may be a bit less than that, but NOT as close as the Yamanote!).
Yeah I'm a rail fan nut! (especially for traction!) IE: Ferroequinologist

In Japanese that would be 鉄馬 or TetsuUma (Hmm, two words I already knew!)

I was looking at info about this today and figured out that there's also some Tezuka murals there.
After some searching, I found that the murals were put there in 2008. Here's a post about it from tezukaosamu.net:
http://tezukaosamu.net/en/news/?p=2076Two murals with Tezuka characters were displayed at Takadanobaba station!
On April 5, 2008, the two murals with Tezuka characters were newly displayed on the walls under JR elevated railways and Seibu elevated railways respectively near Waseda exit of Takadanobaba station. In the morning of the day, the murals were unveiled, and the opening ceremony was held at 12:00, participated by many people including Mayor of Shinjuku, local shop owners, JR and Seibu railways officials, Takayuki Matutsni, President of Tezuka Productions, and Astro boy.
The stream of time in a day, from morning to night, was depicted through people’s daily life and seasonal events in a style of traditional picture scrolls.
Based on the concept, “History and culture from past to future”, various historical events occurred in Takadanobaba and Nishi-Wased areas as well as ideal images of the town in the future are depicted together with Tezuka characters.
Please visit the murals if you have a chance to come to Takadanobaba. The explanatory panels are also displayed.
Pretty much all of the photos come from blogs, so I'll share links to those images here, which you can view on their respective sites:
