I picked up this Simpsons comic that needs to be mentioned here.

I think you can see why I picked this up XD The whole theme here is seeing The Simpsons parody the styles of comics from other countries including Japan, Belgium, and Mexico. First off, in the Japanese style we see them in the audience of a baseball game. Check out the cup in the front.

The last story is full blown Astro Boy parody and it's hilarious. I'm not gonna post the whole thing because I don't want to spoil this for anyone who wants to go out and buy it but I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite moments

this has other great jokes and even more classic anime references and I thought you guys should know about it

They even had a Hyotantsugi in there! I also liked the bit about the panels being backwards.

Hm, I'd like to read that, actually! It seems pretty faithful to the material it's lampooning, hurrhurr. Too bad I can't actually buy anything. Plus, I have some things I would might need to prioritize, even if I could.

So this was from Simpsons Illustrated #19? I might need to seek out a physical copy; I love collecting stuff like this. I think I also died at:

"Astro Boy's dad lets him do whatever he wants!"
"Well, I'm not Dr. Tenma! Now get out of here!"

And he's playing Megaman. Coincidence? I think not
