Fred Ladd interview (Nozomi Entertainment)

Postby Shiyonasan » 10 years ago

Found this on YouTube this morning and thought I'd share. Among other subjects, Ladd talks about the 1963 series coming over to America and becoming localized. Forewarning that this interview is almost 89 minutes long:

Anime Industry Interviews Episode 4: Fred Ladd (Apr. 7, 2016)

As a sidenote, Nozomi Entertainment (under the umbrella of Rightstuf) is going to upload some of the 1963 series English-dubbed episodes onto YouTube. Only Episode 1 is currently available:

Astro Boy Episode 1: The Birth of Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom)

It looks like Nozomi is partnering with Right Stuf to sell the Astro Boy 1963, Kimba, and Princess Knight DVD's
Good to notice that all of these collections are still in print and available right now.

That was a delight to listen to. It was rather interesting hearing about how the series was brought over here.
