Imagine Astro Boy as a musical? That would be pretty cool! Astro Boy and Uran singing songs with their friends as they fight for justice.

For some reason, I feel Tetsuwan Atom/Astro Boy would work better as an opeta, though the line between the two mediums is so thin these days that it's hard to tell which is which at times (I'm referring to new operatic works, nor the classic and more standard ones ).

I'd love to write a fanfiction treatment in the form of a musical production, either a musical play, an operetta, or opera (most likely the second choice). I am not musically talented so I'd have to enlist the help of someone that can actually compose a musical score, and set dialog to music.
I have a few ideas on the thing, the opening scene with Tenma singing the praises of science and technology while he parades about the Ministry of Science, inspecting everyone's work. The theme would be something between "The captain of the Pinafore" (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Np-PjftJN8) and the opening of "The Barber of Seville" (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siMWyB2y-SI).
For the part where Atom first wakes up I envisioned an aria theme based on "See me, Feel me," from Tommy.
Anyway you get the idea.... Anybody up to the challenge?
Yeah one more crazy idea.....I want to do the aria's in Japanese!

I can see what I can do, as I have some experience composing classical music.

I was thinking more of a traditional opera, but it would be interesting to mix elements of both.
