Hi! I'm a newcomer to these forums, but I do like me some Astro Boy.

Anyhoo, I have a question for you guys. Specifically, ones who have read the Astro Boy spin-off, Atomcat (or Astro Cat). For those who haven't, it was a sort of homage spin-off by Osamu Tezuka, where a tomcat gains the powers of Astro Boy after getting run over by aliens. It's readily available on various manga sites, and even an official release by Digital Manga.

Now, to those who have read it, you know it only lasted 7 chapters, mainly due to Tezuka's ailing health at that point. Which honestly was a bit of a shame, as the world it took place in, and the characters already given, could've made for some good storytelling as time went by. So, I want to ask you guys, if you were given the task of continuing the series, what would be some of your ideas? Be it story ideas, character arcs, world building, the list goes on. The series was pretty simple, but it seemed like it could potentially grow over time, so let's see what we could come up with.

It's been a while since I read Atomcat. I don't remember how it ended so I'll have to give it another read.

Well I did write a bit of a spinoff on that idea, it's up on fanfiction dot net. Sorta Cobalt Niko actually!

I should reread Atom Cat and see if I can think of something.

Incidentally, I would like to point out that between the fan translation name of Astro Cat, and the official name of Atomcat, it doesn't matter if you call the main character Atom or Astro. Similarly, there's a love interest of sorts, that officially goes by Munch, but also is called Mink in the fan translated version. Either version of the name is fine, if you need to write about them.

Atom cat is more correct because Tezuka actually was employing a play on words with the name. Atom cat, was derived from A Tom Cat.

I know, but since I've heard it both ways, I figured I'd let people off easy with that.

I haven't read Atomcat in years so I don't remember much about it, but I think a little chapter where he has to go to the vet might be funny. Classic animal scenario.
