This episode was more likely influenced by the Jetter Mars episode of the same name, but, When I was a kid, this was a Saturday Morning cartoon:

The scenario was similar, the dad was a genius scientist, & made a F-type robot as a guardian and companion for his son, Buzz Conroy.

My notes indicate similarities between this episode, & a few other stories:

So, here are the guys who strip parts from stolen robots, similarly to the way some strip parts from stolen cars.



The big guy is one of Tezuka's stars, Let us call him DM for short, as his name means nothing to me. He appeared in the B&W series several episodes, along with a guy I called 'Dopey', who was small. Together their characters were literally Big & little.

If anyone has the Bluray, I would very much like to see these two frames, as it is nearly impossible to read the names the DVD quality!

As far as I know, 03 AB has no blu ray. Also, where are you getting these screenshots from?

The Japanese/Korean DVDs.

The US issued DVD's were in 4x3 "pan and scan" format, cut down from the original 16:9 wide screen, which the Japanese DVD's were issued in. What the FSCK was Sony thinking!
