No more Animaniacs DVD releases :(

I dunno if any of you are familiar with Animaniacs, but in my opinion, it's one of the most funniest cartoons I have ever seen. Animaniacs is basicly similar to Looney Tunes, and almost similar to a sketch comedy show, with different segments packed with running gags, double entendres, parodies, spoofs, catchy songs, pop culture jokes, and hilarious word play. The main characters include the Warner Siblings, (pictured in the logo above) Yakko, Wakko and Dot (three 30's era cartoon kids who live in the WB water tower), Pinky and the Brain (two lab mice who wanna take over the world), Slappy and Skippy Squirl (an old (made up) Looney Tunes character and her nephew), and many more that I do not have time to list. The series ran on the Saturday morning WB Kids block from 1993-1998. It had a total of 99 episodes, with a direct to video movie titled Wakko's Wish in 1999. The first 75 episodes were realeased to DVD, but I recently found out that they discontinued it, and now I'm really ticked! Waduya think of that!?

Disney did that with Darkwing Duck and Ducktales, two of my childhood favourites...Ducktales was dropped right before the last set, and Darkwing about halfway through. Although the latter was probably due to some controversial episodes being in the last few seasons, like one with an anthropomorphic satan stealing souls, and that was actually banned back in 1992.

But we're off-topic. Now, come to think of it, I never actually saw the Animaniacs DVDs in most stores. They were in specialty shops like CD Plus, but nowhere else.

I know how you feel. I love Animaniacs too and another favorite of mine was discontinued before getting all the episodes out too. Anyone else here remember Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers? It got two volumes and that was sadly it. :( *I got 'em both though and was able to download the remaining episodes I wanted from Youtube so I guess all is well XD
Thanks for showing me that Youtube page with the animaniacs episodes. I am SO subscribing to them :D

Everytime I go into Barnes & Noble I keep seeing the Animaniacs DVDs. Maybe next time I go I will pick them up... always been a fan of Speilburg animation. (W00t! Freakazoid!)

Cartoon Network did the same thing with Ed Edd and Eddy. Released 2 seasons and then quit. Boo! Poor form, CN!

Here's a link to my favorite Animaniacs song. Dot the Macadamia Nut.

Image

Dot is a nut, so we call her Macadamia,
She's cracked in the head, and kooky in the brainia,
Each line in this song sounds pretty much the same-ia,
OY MACADAMIA!

Best Macerana parody ever!

hi- love DARKWING DUCK 'S signature: "LET'S get DANGEROUS" I think that was it- love how he cared about the little girl duck he adopted and loved when the criminal he faced in episode that was about DARKWING adoping the little girl duck- called him a boy scout with a rule book under his pillow. How did he know that- it was so cute that he had rule book under his pillow-
