Experiences on other Forums or Websites
I thought I would like to start a thread where people can share their experiences with previous forums, websites or any kind of community that they wish to share. Now I wasn't big into forums until recently and this probably the first anime forum I've been on. Before mainly gaming forums, the only other forum that I'm on other than this forum is Treyarch's forum. About a year ago I was on a forum called "PlayStation Universe" (not to be confused with PlayStation University) which at the time was what I thought to be a PS3 gaming forum. What mainly started some drama on there was I got into a discussion talking about Microsoft's Xbox 360. Now most people that own one know that the Xbox 360 has a reputation for having a large amount of failure rates (RROD aka Red Ring of Death, disc reading errors, scratching discs ect.) I don't remember the exact words that I said. I said something like "Well if the xbox wasn't so shotty" I used the word "shotty" I didn't swear in posts usually. Now like most forums, they have rules about trolls, spam and abusing people. But I got an infraction for posting that. When I asked the moderator why I got a warning, he said I was "flame baiting." For those that don't know what that means, it's like pouring gasoline on the ground sticking a light about a foot away from it and asking someone to kick it in. In other words my comment was going to inspire people to get upset. I wasn't abusing anyone; I was talking about a piece of hardware, I wasn't abusing someone's kid, wife or dog. I was talking about a game console. I eventually got banned from this forum because I got in trouble all the time there for things like that. Not to mention they banned people all the time for things like this. They would even stick a section on the home page saying who got banned or suspended and why. Like people care? It's like in the middle ages where people stuck both their hands, and head through those holes and they locked you in there and people would throw fruit at you. This forum was basically an Xbox fan site in disguise as a Playstation site. Why not start an Xbox forum? Why not start just a forum about games in general? I was basically removed from the site because I said things that were negative towards the Xbox 360. Honestly, why they cared I don't know. I don't recommend going there. But I'm really glad that I stumbled upon this forum. I've met some very good people here that like to listen and share opinions. I'm very glad to be here. Would anyone else like to share their past experiences with other forums? (Please try to refrain from off-topic discussions if possible.)

I'm not too used to message boards as this is actually the second forum I've participated in. The first one was for Tak and the Power of Juju since I was friends with some of the members thanks to YouTube. Unfortunately I think it's dead now.
(Trying to find the link again)
I was fortunate enough to have my first two forums to be friendly (thanks guys!
) without much bullying problems. However, I have a harder time here to post since now I have less than half a year of knowing Astro Boy. Truthfully, the off topic tendencies also made me shy away from the forums which is why I haven't been posting often.
But regardless of the flaw there, I find this forum very useful for getting to know the robot boy better which made me love him more. I may know some people in real life who know the bot but it's just in name and appearance (and tendancies to mistake him as a girl). It makes me quite glad that I can at least talk about something I like regardless of it being a bit "obscure".
So to the whole forum, thank you very much! :3
