Not really, since most of his manga wasn't in English 10 years ago. Most of his manga still isn't in English, but we have more now than we did before.

I looked on amazon.com, and all I saw were used editions. Oh d-d-d-d-d-dear oh dear!

I remember being like thirteen and getting overly excited that The Magazine (a kid's magazine in Canada) did this for an article of readers' favourite cartoon characters:

I was like, "Holy cow! Somebody knows Astro exists and asked for him to be included!" Ah, the summer of 2006 was the best...

I think 2008 is when Tezuka's other manga really started to get published. In 2007, ViZ made a big deal about printing Princess Knight, but they did one chapter from the middle of the story and only printed it in Shoujo Beat.

....Um, duh.

But the fact that they're all going out of print quickly without reprints is unfair, at least to me.

Please, cut me your sarcasm. I am willing to work with good quality used copies. After all, my volume 22 of AB is a used copy.

Now, you didn't hear this from me, but I want you to go on a Ferris Bueller-esque escapade to that Chapters and back without your parents knowing. Because this price hiking is bullcrap. This book came out exactly eighteen months ago, and there is no reason for these vultures to do this.

America's prices are a little less horrific, though.

I realize the prices of Amazon's prices, I guess I just didn't know she was referring to the Canadian Amazon's prices and thought she was being sarcastic.

It's either American Amazon or Ebay for me. Unfortunately most of the time my parents are against online shopping and for years and years I was forbidden from it, until we discovered these gift cards that can be used on online shops... they're hella expensive though.

Also, you think that's bad? I've seen copies of Phoenix: Dawn go up for 600 dollars.

I'm sorry Dr. Jerk, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic. I was sincerely surprised that StE stopped being printed. And I was referring to American amazon, where the used copies are 30$.

Anyone know why they stopped printing them?

Either,

A. Digital Manga publishing company isn't very well known.

Or,

B. Hardcovers are expensive to mass-produce.

Guys, no bad vibes in my thread! We're here to talk about Gohonmatsu's wacky drunken adventure through space and time, and how to find a copy of it.

I think DMP made less copies than they thought they would ever sell, or were impatient and pulled them when they didn't go fast enough. An example of this situation...there's an OVA called Crusher Joe that was put out some years ago on DVD, with almost the same circumstances, and now you're lucky to find it for sale for $60. Don't get me started on Key The Metal Idol, or the earlier prints of the Phoenix series (but Dr. Jerk did mention this already).

Also, the STE books were glossy paperback, kind of like a huge drugstore novel.

Well regardless, those covers would still be more expensive to produce.
