My iPod met its watery grave - any mp3 player suggestions?

Postby The Tawashi Bus Hat » 14 years ago

Yep. Left it in my pants pocket and it got washed. :d oh:
It didn't go through the whole cycle, just the first 4 minutes of it so it might live, since it's a Nano...

...but, whilst it lays in a warm bed of uncooked rice for the next week or so, anyone got any suggestions on a new mp3 player? I've been thinking of getting something other than an iPod, and I really don't want a Zune (bad experience, yo).

Anything 8G or larger would be nice...maybe not hard drive based, I dunno yet.

So, any suggestions everyone? :whistling:

I own a Sony Walkman and I'm happy with it. But I've never had an iPod, so I can't compare.

I've been eyeballing those, actually. The NWZ-E354 looks really nice, actually...
(And it comes in red.

Be nice to get one without any required software - and it's pretty darn cheap for an 8G.

I own the NWZ-S545. I like the possibility of recording the radio. :D I use it to identify songs.

I have to say that I've encountered a bug here and there, but it's rare. I've had to reset it perhaps 3 times in over a year (not losing anything that was on it, just needed to restart it). I've bought the 16G, but I think it was an overkill. :d oh: I usually try to buy only what I need and not more, but I'd suffered with the 1G of my previous one, and was scared 8G wouldn't be enough...

It's like when I needed a new computer a few years ago: I got this huge, huge hard drive because I constantly needed to make room for something. :whistling:

Meh, had to reset my iPod 4 times because of faulty software updates. *spits* I ended up just not updating it anymore - more trouble than it's worth, and the updates were only for games (which I don't play).

The 16G looks nice, but even with my 8G pod, there ended up being songs I wouldn't listed to for months on it. xD My music goes in phases, much like the videogames I play, haha!

The only real negative reviews I read on it were that it didn't come with a manual. Is it fairly easy to figure out on the fly?

I don't remember clearly, I could check tomorrow, but I think I had at least a mini manual, for how to reset it, start it, things like that. I don't remember being annoyed because I didn't know how to do something, it always seemed easy enough.
