OMG!! I can't wait for FAUNA to see your post!! XD She is kind of an internet cult hero for her hysterical and caustic reviews of the Now Comics series! It's good to know some folks really enjoyed them, though. Astro is ANY format at all is way better than none.

I think! :p

I'm still on a never endin' search for 'March of Comics' #285, but I also refuse to pay $100 US dollars for somethin' that they published and distributed for free :shifty: . One day I will find it cheap... one day.... :ninja:

Yeha i saw those on ebay tough i haven't have any of them ...
However i do have 3 Japanese animation golden books from 1978 who go up for more than 50 dollars each 2 of them are Astro Boy and the other one is Dororo they have animation cells in them and look pretty nice.
I also own Tezuka's film animation book but that's still in print.
I cuess i could take some pictures soon.

The Astro Boy March of Comics comes up on eBay once in a while, but I only know of one occasion where the buyer got it for less than $100.00, but it was not in great condition. I myself paid a little over $100.00 for a copy, but it was in mint condition.

I believe Fauna has a website where you can read reviews of several issues of the 1980s Astro Boy comic book series, (if not all of them).

I  :astro: :)

OH MAN, STAND BACK EVERYBODY. EXPERT COMING IN.

A bit of background data...the NOW! Comics series ran from 1987 to 1989, using three writers (Michael Dimpsey, Ken Steacy and Brian Thomas) and two artists (Ken Steacy and Brian Thomas), although the characters were bought unfairly from the old licensors of the 1960's anime. So, basically, Osamu Tezuka never knew the series existed, and it's a good thing, since the story and art fluctuate in quality so much that it's entertaining.

See here for a directory of reviews. I wrote in-depth pages for each of the issues...I swear, it took me from 2007 to 2011 to collect the whole set and write about them all.

If you're interested in reading the series, I actually have the entire comic scanned and available for free on Photobucket! I was thinking of putting the whole thing in a ZIP file on MegaUpload, but all together it would be 200 MB, and that's too much space for these things.

As well, if you have any questions at all about the series, I'll be glad to answer them. I spent a bit of time working undercover for extra information, even going as far as contacting Brian Thomas (and trying to contact Ken Steacy).
