The few of the new ones that are decent like Adventure Time , Young Justice ,Thundercats, The Clone Wars , Normal Show, and the Misadventures of Flapjack are quite decent and if Toonami was on today they would be on there or before it .

Most of their shows suck now for sure. I only watch Adult Swim for their anime block , Seth's shows and King of the Hill. Their other stuff plain sucks.

If they were to bring it back here's my lineup:

Friday nights

Avatar: TLA: 8 (If they could syndicate it)
Thundercats 2011: 8:30
Clone Wars/Naruto (sans filer ,Uncut) or Astro Boy:9
Durarara!!!: 9:30
Young Justice: 10
Gundam 00: 10:30

Saturday Night:

Kimba 1989 Redub: 7:30
Guyver 2005:8
Gundam Wing: 8:30
Astro Boy 2003/ Future Astro Boy anime :9
Tetsuijin 28-go 2004: 9:30
Black Jack: 10
Skullman:10:30
The Boondocks: 11
Cyborg 009-1 :11:30

Weekdays:

Hikaru No Go: 4
Rave Master: 4:30
Ben 10: 5
Powerpuff Girls Z: 5:30 (There's an English version for it :) )

I hope Nick buys the rights to Toonami and or does a Japanese Toku block like this:

11:Ultraman
11:30: Kamen Rider adaptation
12: Power Rangers

Thanks. I really think if they do bring it back, they should cater it towards the fans of the original Toonami and bring back the shows which started it up. I can't foresee the Dragon Ball franchise ever coming back to Cartoon Network unless it was for long term.

I'd much rather it go on Nickelodeon and replace the stupid reruns of various failed and cancelled retro primetime shows that air on weeknights and weekend night because that block is wasted on crap that irrelevant.

But let's stick to Cartoon Network being the base for a Neo Toonami.

I'm not sure who owns the bloody rights to Kimba : 1989 anymore or if they are now reverted but that would be a great candidate for a re-release if said animation were remastered and cleaned up , but a redub would be preferential.

Then again, from what i've heard, Kimba 1989 goes far way from the original manga but let's face it, would people really, really watch the original two series that comprised of "Jungle Taitei" and "Onward Leo!"? Probably hell no based on how horrible the first few Gundam series did ratings wise back then. So yeah, the 1989 series for better or for worse , could work for a theoretical spot.

Tetsuijin 28-go was chosen due to the channel's airing of Gigantor throughout Toonami's history and perhaps that robot dude could connect them?

Avatar : TLA and Wing were chosen due to each series' mass popularity, with the former perhaps being syndicated while Durarara!!! has the Pulp Fiction styled story which Tarantino fans or people in to Burn Notice would draw to. The main reason why there are a few American shows in the mix is because Toonami was about action packed shows from both sides which were anime based or inspired. Hell, if they wanted to , they could option Code Lyoko ,Totally Spies, Martin Mystery and the Mysterious Cities of Gold for the program lineup.

Astro Boy just seems like a great mention because while it was poorly screwed over before, there's no more programming for kids on the CW anymore to do anything that stupid. But in general, this line up would appeal to not only anime fans, but to the mainstream CN audience which grew up with Samurai Jack, PPG and those great classics and or compete with Nick for it's run of money.

Plus, Thundercats is doing really good in ratings so far, so if they were to bring it back as I said , it would reign in not only the audiences of young people who are fans of Avatar and Japanese animation ,but revive the channel. Because when you think about it , the best years of the channel were when they had all of the anime and the main few creators like McCracken , Tarkovsky... ya know. i'll never watch XD's butchering of Naruto Shippuden, ever.
