Jiroemon Kimura, the last man verified to have been born in the 19th century, passed away today. He lived to be 116 years old. Unless there's other men who haven't been verified, only females born in the 19th century are still alive (there's 9 to be exact).
I can't imagine all the things that man must've seen in his lifetime. It would've been cool to listen to his stories about the old days.

I remember reading that there was no record of any human being living beyond 114. Guess that was wrong.

French Jeanne Calmant died at 122 and holds the world record. At 90 years old, she sold her house and concluded an agreement to get a monthly payment in exchange, which was to last until she died. She ended up getting twice the value of her home.
